Bring Casual Clothes to Cotacachi

It's time for another of the fun bits from 50 Things You Should Know Before Moving to Cotacachi, Ecuador from Cotacachi Living.  They have fabulous information that I could never possibly cover and they do it all so well.

Other than the Santa, this is pretty much how you can expect to see folks in Cotacachi dressed most of the time.  It's a lovely, casual lifestyle that fits me just great!  This photo taken (without permission--sorry) from the Pro-Ecuador blog.

30) Bring casual clothes.

Say goodbye to dresses, panty hose and high heels. Okay, for men, that list may be a little different. . . perhaps ties are what make them feel constricted. In Cotacachi, not only are the attitudes casual, but the attire is too. Most of us wear t-shirts, blue jeans, and running shoes accompanied by windbreakers and maybe some earrings (again, that’s a little different list for the men . . . or not). Typically, expats dress up for the holidays or when dining at La Mirage or Hacienda San Isidro, but on a daily basis, we’re all walking so much that it just makes sense to dress comfortably. Bring your jewelry but keep it safe and wear it on those special occasions.
