Other than the Santa, this is pretty much how you can expect to see folks in Cotacachi dressed most of the time. It's a lovely, casual lifestyle that fits me just great! This photo taken (without permission--sorry) from the Pro-Ecuador blog. |
30) Bring casual clothes.
Say goodbye to dresses, panty hose and high heels. Okay, for men, that list may be a little different. . . perhaps ties are what make them feel constricted. In Cotacachi, not only are the attitudes casual, but the attire is too. Most of us wear t-shirts, blue jeans, and running shoes accompanied by windbreakers and maybe some earrings (again, that’s a little different list for the men . . . or not). Typically, expats dress up for the holidays or when dining at La Mirage or Hacienda San Isidro, but on a daily basis, we’re all walking so much that it just makes sense to dress comfortably. Bring your jewelry but keep it safe and wear it on those special occasions.
